Driving from Kestle Mill on Bridle Way and turning left onto the A392 (East Road), the Bible Christian Chapel is on the right just before the Union Inn Crossroads and was possibly extended at a later date.
The plaque reads Chapel Coth 1872 which implies the original build date.
It is not included in the 1867 registered list of chapels but is by 1901.
1881 maps: Included on 1881 maps and up to 1907 but then becomes marked simply as a Church.
1890: Quintrell Downs Chapel renovated. (Royal Cornwall Gazette – Thursday 10 July 1890)
1907: The Methodist New Connexion, Bible Christians and United Methodist Free Churches amalgamated to become the United Methodist Church.
1907: Probably became a United Methodist Church.
1932: The Wesleyan, Primitive Methodist and the United Methodist Church amalgamated to become the Methodist Church of Great Britain.
1932: Became Quintrell Downs Methodist Church (presumably in 1932) but Kresen Kernow records date only from 1938.
1940: Seating for 85. (Revd David Easton)
There are records up to the 1970s.
Circa 1976: Closure.
Became residential but also is or has been a holiday home – The Old Chapel, East Road.
