Highway is an area to the east of Redruth. This profile of Redruth Highway Wesleyan Chapel has been compiled by Jo Lewis and Tony Mansell.

 

Wesleyan chapel. Probably mid C19. Recorded on the 1st and 2nd Editions of the 1:2500 1880 and 1907 OS Maps. Stuccoed walls with quoin rustication and moulded architraves; hipped roof. Simple classical style with round-arched openings. 2 storeys; 2-window front has 1st-floor windows lighting probable end (or full) gallery and central lean-to porch with side doorway. 2-window side elevations. Margin-pane windows. Associated Sunday school to the south. Deleted from the statutory list of listed buildings 1999 following thematic assessment. (Cornwall Council Heritage Gateway)

1932: The Wesleyan, Primitive Methodist and the United Methodist Church amalgamated to become the Methodist Church of Great Britain.

  1. Hi, I have lived in this chapel building for the last 14 yrs. I have photos of the inside of the chapel as it was, if you’re interested.
    This link was forwarded to me by my neighbour who lives in the old Sunday school building behind.
