1968: Build date.

 

Looe, Barbican. OS 201: 257539 – Methodist 1968

Walls rendered and painted white with natural stone at base filling up slope of site. Shallow pitched tiled roof with porch at each side.

Plaque inside porch gives opening date and name of architect: G R Vaughan Ellis, ARIBA, Liskeard..

Rectangular worship room with polished wooden floor and movable furnishings.

Substantial communion table and chairs in oak, each carved with three fishes is in roundel surrounded by a rope.

Reading desk on communion table.

No pulpit.

Font: Wooden rectangular bowl supported by large round central column and four turned legs, all resting on rectangular base.

Flat ceiling.

Rectangular windows with opaque glass panels.
