Grumbla is a hamlet in the parish of Sancreed. This profile of Trevarthen (Grumbla) Bible Christian Chapel has been compiled by Jo Lewis and Tony Mansell.

 

Small Methodist chapel and attached probable Sunday school, now all converted to house. Simple vernacular example built of granite moorstone rubble. Late C20 porch in front of entrance gable end. (Cornwall Heritage Gateway)

1907: The Methodist New Connexion, Bible Christians and United Methodist Free Churches amalgamated to become the United Methodist Church.

Became a United Methodist Church. (David Easton, Methodist Minister and historian) Trevarthen!!!

1932: The Wesleyan, Primitive Methodist and the United Methodist Church amalgamated to become the Methodist Church of Great Britain.

1940: Seating for 100. (David Easton, Methodist Minister and historian)

1965: Closed and was converted to a store with planning in 1967.

Became a dwelling. (David Easton, Methodist Minister and historian)

Called An-chapel-goth and became a farm shop and cattery.
