Porthoustock is a hamlet near St Keverne in Cornwall on the east coast of Lizard Peninsula. This profile of Porthoustock Wesleyan Chapel has been compiled by Terry Moyle.

1880 Prayer Leader’s Plan – prayer meeting Thursday 7pm

Membership in 1876 – 20

Also used at various times as a Reading Room and Community/Mission Hall

Closed for a number of years due to condition of building (early 1900s)

1909 renovation and re-opening

1914 extensive repairs carried out

1914 St. Keverne Circuit Plan – Sunday service 3pm

1915 – Sunday afternoon service and occasional evening service

1933 – regular morning and evening services started

Long service given to Porthoustock chapel by Mr. Norman Tonkin

Closed 1963

Members joined St. Keverne Methodist

Building sold – £500 given to the St. Keverne Hall building fund

Later converted to a dwelling house
