This Beautiful Land

Cornish Story is excited to offer the second in a series of poems from Rob Bristol Poetry (c). Read on to discover the creative genius of a man who writes a new poem every single day. You can find Rob’s offering from last month here.

This beautiful land where valleys are green,
Rainbows appear by a trickling stream,
Moors which are vast are there to explore,
Relics of tin mines from decades before.
……
The Tamar plays border, a river to cross,
Trees trunks play host to various moss,
The bay of St Ives is waiting for you,
Offering trips for the very best view.
……
Down at Cape Cornwall, waves crash ashore,
St Michael’s Mount has much to adore,
Polperro remains as a village of old,
The rock of Tintagel where legends unfold.
……
The Luxulyan valley is Heaven on Earth,
Whilst Newquay attracts those wanting to surf,
St Just with her flowers offer much charm,
Dolphins appear when the ocean is calm.
……
Falmouth is famous for historic docks,
Mevagissey where seagulls hover in flocks,
Charlestown has tall ships ready to sail,
St Austell brewery provide the best ale.
……
St Nectans Glenn, a haven of peace,
Offering pilgrims a sense of release,
The cove of Sennen has scenes to enthrall,
Beautiful Cornwall gives pleasure to all……

Rob Bristol
Rob's love of Cornwall began on his very first visit way back in 1981, it was then that he decided to make it his life's intention to eventually move to Cornwall. Having made the move in 2011, he carried on with his interest in photography, where he began to see the poetry evolve in the images which appeared before him.
