Burras is a village in west Cornwall, east of Black Rock and approximately five miles south of Redruth on the B3297 road. This profile of Burras UMFC has been compiled by Jo Lewis and Tony Mansell.

 

United Methodist chapel is recorded on the 2nd Edition 1:2500 OS map. The chapel is in the stuccoed style. The building is now converted to house. (Heritage Gateway)

1890: Lease, United Methodist Free Church, Burhos, Wendron. (Kresen Kernow X396/15)

1893: Counterpart lease, plot of land at Burras, Wendron. Parties: 1) George John Smith, esquire, of Treliske 2) Trustees of the United Methodist Free Church, Burhos. Property: plot of ground (2 laces), part of Kanap [Kennap] wastrel, at Burhos [Burras], on which a stable had been built by party 2. Signed by only one of the 12 trustees and not witnessed.
